Why professional Installers Choose OZWRAPS™ Spray-On PPF?

  • Ultimate Protection: Guards against scratches, stone chips, UV fading, and road grime, keeping cars looking showroom-fresh for years.
  • Easy for Pros: Sprays on smoothly with standard HVLP equipment, cures fast, and delivers a seamless gloss finish that rivals factory paint.
  • Business Booster: Add a premium protection service to your existing workflow and increase your revenue per job. Approved installers will be listed on our global directory once launched, connecting them with local customers actively looking for the service.
  • Dry Premium Film Former Powder Kit, Ship Anywhere: The only spray-on PPF supplied as a non-DG dry powder kit. Behind the simplicity is a complex, precisely engineered formulation developed over more than a decade since 2012. Multiple ingredients require exact dosing to achieve the finish quality, UV resistance, and clean peelability OZWRAPS™ is known for. This level of precision cannot be maintained in bulk mixing, so every kit is individually weighed, dosed, and hand assembled to order before dispatch. Designed so the final mix is straightforward for the installer, source only one solvent locally, mix on site, and ready to spray in under 30 minutes.

Our streamlined global logistics ensure:

  1. No minimum order.
  2. Ships worldwide by air as non-dangerous goods with no hazmat surcharges.
  3. No customs complications, and no import delays.
  4. Compact, lightweight packaging means lower shipping costs and better margins for your business.

  • Formulated for Extreme UV: Developed and tested under some of the most intense UV conditions on earth. Our stabiliser stack is precisely dosed for real world sun exposure, not adapted from mild climate formulations.
  • Built for Professional Workflows: Applies using your existing spray booth and standard HVLP equipment with minimal learning curve. Flows smoothly, cuts prep and rework time, and boosts shop efficiency on every job.
  • Strong Business Case: Faster installation means higher job throughput. Premium pricing potential across gloss, satin, matte and custom colour finishes. Recurring revenue from reapplication when customers return.
  • Direct From the Formulator: No distributors, no middlemen. You buy directly from the manufacturer who developed the product. Technical questions get real technical answers.

As supplied, this product is not classified as Dangerous Goods (DG). This allows for simpler, faster, and more cost-effective shipping, including the option for air freight, reducing transit times, customs delays, and associated costs. These efficiencies can help lower logistics expenses and improve margins for installers.

However, once received, the product must be mixed with a DG-classified solvent. After mixing, the final system is classified as Dangerous Goods.

This system is strictly intended for professional installation environments only. Application outside of a controlled spray booth environment poses serious health and safety risks including exposure to flammable vapours, solvent inhalation, and fire hazards.

A critical safety note for solvent-based coatings: electric spray guns with the motor located in the handle, commonly sold at hardware and home improvement stores, are extremely dangerous when used with solvent-based products. Flammable vapours can reach the electric motor and ignite, creating a serious fire and explosion risk. Only air-powered HVLP equipment in a properly ventilated spray booth is appropriate for this type of coating.

Claims that solvent-based peelable coating systems can be safely applied at home, in a garage, or without proper ventilation and protective equipment are false and potentially dangerous. Any product in this category marketed for DIY use without professional spray facilities does not meet basic workplace health and safety standards.

Spray-applied coating systems require controlled handling due to their chemical composition once prepared for use. Required controls include:

  • Spray booths or equivalent controlled environments
  • Adequate ventilation throughout application and curing
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment including respirator, gloves, and eye protection

Relevant workplace health and safety guidance by region:

All systems are intended for trained professional installers operating within compliant workplace safety frameworks. Installers are responsible for meeting all applicable chemical handling and environmental control requirements in their jurisdiction.

OZWRAPS™ spray-on PPF is designed to apply using standard HVLP spray equipment already found in any professional spray booth. A 1.3 to 1.6mm fluid tip and 30 PSI or (2 BAR) pressure is recommended for optimal atomisation and film build.

No specialised or additional equipment is required beyond what a professional automotive spray painter already uses daily. Gun pressure, fan width, and fluid settings follow the same principles as spraying a conventional automotive clear coat.

A minimum dry film thickness of 150 microns is required for full protection and clean peelability. Rather than counting coats, the key factor is total material applied per unit area, as this varies depending on spray gun setup, nozzle size, and application technique. Apply over multiple passes allowing proper flash-off time between each coat.

Check our spray-on PPF material quantity calculator to estimate the amount needed for a desired thickness.

The recommended 150 micron minimum is sufficient for full protection and clean peelability under normal driving conditions. Higher film builds up to approximately 300 microns (12 mil) are not required for standard applications but may be considered for extreme heavy duty use such as high stone chip exposure or off road environments.

OZWRAPS™ spray-on PPF is formulated for application over fully cured OEM factory paint in sound condition. The surface must be clean, decontaminated, and free from waxes, sealants, ceramic coatings, silicones, or any other surface treatments prior to application.

The high-gloss version is highly transparent and preserves the original OEM paint finish, often enhancing depth and bringing out existing OEM metallic and pearlescent effects more vividly, but it will also reveal any existing defects such as light scratches unless the surface is properly corrected beforehand, whereas the satin version provides a softer, diffused reflection that changes the overall look to a more muted, modern finish while helping to visually mask minor imperfections like fine scratches and light swirl marks, though deeper defects will still remain and may be visible depending on lighting conditions.

A compatibility test patch on an inconspicuous area is required before full application. Application over recently resprayed, refinished, or repaired surfaces requires additional assessment and is not recommended without confirmed substrate compatibility.

The dry kit mix is engineered for effortless mixing and professional results:

  • Combine: Pour the entire contents of the kit into a DG-approved container.
  • Add Solvent: Add the required solvent as specified.
  • Mix: Blend thoroughly using a drill paddle.
  • Filter & Spray: Filter the mixture to ensure a clean finish, and it is ready to spray.

Application Settings

  • Tip Size: 1.4
  • Pressure: 30 PSI (2 bar)
  • Overlap: 50%

NOTE: The above is the average application method. Feel free to adjust pressure settings and tip size to match your individual spraying style.
